During the 20+yrs. of experience as Director of Photography Marc Blandori’s extensive commercial and TV Promo work has exposed him to virtually every style and technique in filmmaking. Most recently he has become more connected with features and episodic television.
Marc’s television credits include the dark comedy series “Starved” (FX) and “Gravity” (Starz). Features include “Mind the Gap” (Showtime) that won a special jury prize at the 2004 SXSW festival and “They’re Out Of The Business” for IFC Films, which premiered April 8, 2011.
Marc has photographed such stars as Cate Blanchett, Julianne Moore, Reese Witherspoon, Vera Farmiga, Sara Jessica Parker, Melissa Leo, Emily Blunt, Jamie Fox, John Lithgow, Steve Martin, Roy Scheider, Ving Rhames, Matt Damon, Jay Z, Ron Howard, Martin Scorcese, in promos and dramatic films.
With Marc’s eye for lighting, he often chooses a natural one source look keeping any artificial lights “invisible”. When shooting drama one of his concerns is how light falls on faces throughout the blocking of a scene. He can achieve this look with broad strokes which allows him to work very fast. Every producer he has worked for will attest to this quality.
